Selen A. Stromgren, PhD

• 10 years of experience as a federal executive leading and implementing change in a matrixed organization composed of a national network of regulatory analytical testing laboratories. Main projects included:

  • Capacity optimization of the laboratories to achieve consistent operational baseline productivity level and minimize time devoted to non-core functions.

  • Establishing a custom proficiency testing program for a diverse scope of analytical operations 

  • Executing a first-party internal audit and assessment program of a network of ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratories

  • Strengthening the internal scientific review process so as to improve quality of analytical reports and increase confidence in the laboratories' results

  • Creation of a senior scientific principals training aimed at preparing new managers to effectively lead a laboratory organization that is connected to a larger hierarchy and is expected to meet set requirements for productivity

  • Annual and 5-year strategic plan developments

  • Developing concept of operations and business plans following large reorganizations

  • Dashboard and infographic design, development and automation to convert large volumes of unstructured historical data into structured data that can be analyzed to extract trends to inform actions and decisions

  • Newsletter development and circulation for purpose of organizational branding and connecting with a larger stakeholder group

  • Organization of large scientific conferences, including agenda development and moderation

• 5 years of experience in an operational role leading methodology development, technology integration, quality systems management of regulatory analytical testing laboratories.

• 7 years of experience in biotechnology industry as a senior scientist performing research to develop and optimize the company's patented detection technology.
